The X9 is the thick one. It is a reversible winter cover with large breathing openings, built for skiing, running, hiking and cycling when the air is cold enough that a thin cover is not doing much.

Thick fabric and cold air are the two things that make breathing through a cover hard. The large openings over the mouth are the answer to both.
